Photograph by Tampa photographer C. A. Passinault.Image four of our online portfolio of another Tampa model. This photograph, if we are not mistaken, was taken on location in the Tampa Bay area. The best modeling portfolio photographs are location shots. This is another great picture. This is the fifth model photograph on Tampa Bay Modeling. Pictures featured in our thumbnail array may not be the same as those of models which are in our featured model section, but often, they are one and the same.Unmatched in any Florida modeling market. The quality of this image is excellent! Photograph by C. A. Passinault, our resident photographer and modeling expert.Another top Tampa model gets their look on. The best models can obtain a wide range of looks, as you can see when you look at other pictures of this model! Is it any wonder why more and more companies and art directors are booking independent models without going through an agency? Proof that you can be a professional model, with a lucrative career, without being dependent upon an agency to find and book modeling jobs!Another awesome photograph of a Tampa model by modeling photographer C. A. Passinault, lead photographer Aurora PhotoArts, and director of Tampa Bay Modeling. For modeling portfolio work in the Tampa Bay area, nothing beats location work. Studio photography is not nearly as cost effective, or appropriate, for modeling portfolio work.Keep in mind that this picture, for a modeling portfolio, was taken by a qualified modeling portfolio photographer, C. A. Passinault, for a specialized, professional market, which is modeling. A wedding photographer or a portrait studio will not be able to give models what they need for an effective modeling portfolio, as you have to know what you are doing! This is the 12th picture in our Tampa Bay Modeling online portfolio. Yet another Tampa model shows a marketable look in their portfolio. The best models are capable of the most looks, and are not locked into a single look!Agency model or independent model? It doesnt matter, anymore, especially in Tampa Bay. Professional models like this one can be booked without going through an agency, saving both the model and the job agency fees.Modeling portfolios need at least six looks, and by looks, we mean different looks. A composite cards needs at least five, on average, with a headshot on the front, and four different looks on the back of the comp card. This Tampa model is demonstrating a marketable look right now, in this photography. Picture by C. A. Passinault.

MODELING WEB SITE SCAMS

Not all modeling web sites are as reputable as ours is. Some are set up to scam models, and some of those are the ones trying to steal our content. Are we paranoid about people stealing our content and using it? No, not really. We have proof that it has been done. Use common sense when taking advice from web sites, and cross reference their information with that of industry professionals. Our favorite kind of web site scam? Resource sites set up within a business web site, giving advice that is taken from other web sites like ours.
Lately, we have seen an increase of model and talent "help" sites that claim to give career tips to models and talent. At least one of these sites is openly against Tampa Bay Modeling, yet you will find ideas from our site throughout their site and other content cut and pasted from other sites. Most of the people talking badly about Tampa Bay Modeling and legitimate resource sites such as ours are SCAMS and THEIVES who steal information from our site. We find it ironic that the very people who denounce us choose to steal from us. If the information is bad, then why would they use it? One character even went so far as to state that we are taking information from modeling books and posting it on our site. If that's the case, then they should find those sources and report us so they can take legal action against us. Additionally, if their claims were true, then why would they steal the information from us, too? It's not going to happen, as we write and create the content on this site, and our models are working professionals who make a living by doing our careers. They cannot accept the idea that there are more qualified people in the industry voicing their opinions louder and more clearly than they are capable of. Beware of fake model and talent help sites, and stick to real deals like ours!
As of July, 2004, we are seeing another version of model resource sites that are set up like Independent Modeling in respect to formatting themselves as ONLINE MAGAZINES. While we like to see great modeling web sites that help out the modeling industry, it is another story altogether when they lack professional integrity by stealing content from sites such as ours and associate with unprofessional people and model scams. In one case, we are seeing an online magazine that is working with a sleazy scam photographer and the site is geared to compete directly with Tampa Bay Modeling. While we don't mind a little competition, in this case we have issues with this because the photographer working with them has a reputation for stealing ideas and content.
YOU MUST establish the professional credibility of any source BEFORE you take any advice from them. When it comes to any advice or opinions, the source must be considered! Here are some tips when dealing with online modeling magazines and model resource sites.

LOOK at their partners!
You are who you associate with. They have a professional responsibility to avoid working with so-called professionals who are unethical and otherwise scam models. If they are working with a model scam, you need to watch out, as they are probably out to scam you, too.

VERIFY their references!
Don't take their word for it. If they start name dropping the names of well established professionals and state that they have worked with credible companies, you MUST check their claims out! If they lie to you, they will do other dishonest things, too. Don't get scammed!

CLARIFY their intentions!
What is their motivation? Is it revenge against Tampa Bay Modeling because we made them accountable for what they do? Are they trying to compete against a reputable company because the company refused to work with them? Are they trying to make a scam seem credible? You must consider their motivation! If it is not honorable, then it can reflect badly on those who associate with them.

QUALIFY their professional experience!
Are they really as experienced as they say that they are? Do they steal from reputable web sites like Tampa Bay Modeling and try to pass off the information as their own? Are they copying things out of modeling books? Is the information that they are offering their own, or is it from another web site? This is why it is very important, once again, to VERIFY their references and to LOOK at and VERIFY the credibility of the "professionals" that they work with!

Do they RESPECT the property and the rights of others?
A no-brainer. If they try to walk over real professionals, take what they please, do what they please, openly disrespect professionals, imply associations with credible professionals where none exists, and bad mouth reputable modeling industry professionals and their competition with no verifiable basis, beware! If they do not respect the rights of others, then they do not and will not respect your rights. If they think like this, they will not hesitate to try and scam you!

Remember, if you see any site that has copied our content, is trying to rip us off, or is bad- mouthing Tampa Bay Modeling, LET US KNOW.

Scams listed here are not limited to models, and different types can be easily combined for new types of scams. If you cannot CLARIFY their intentions and VERIFY their references, go somewhere else to do business. It's professionally responsible to do so and lowers your risk. There are lots of great companies out there, like our advertisers and the companies in our resource sections, who are not scams. You owe it to your career to shop around and be selective.
