OPINION MENU - POST OPINION - PREVIOUS - NEXT Real Integrity. I touched on what I thought about Integrity a while back. It's still on my mind. Isn't it just funny how the people who shout out the word "integrity" the most are the ones who drag the meaning through the mud and give their industry a horrible name? Some people just try too hard to be cool. Some people only go through the motions of their profession and they will lie to you if they feel that it benefits them. Some people you can never trust; too many never look at what they do and only accept what they say. That's sad. There's too much of this crap going on right now, with few genuine professionals with the courage and conviction to take these people on, stand up for what they believe in, and make the con artists accountable for their scams. Integrity? It's far more than just a word. It's what you do, too. To shout out "integrity" while your actions betray what you say makes those who do a liar as well as a scam. No one can take away your integrity if you never had it to begin with. When you lie, steal, and cheat in order to get ahead, you are no professional. You are a pathetic fool who will find that what you do will catch up to you; the only person that you truly cheat is yourself, and you end up doing to yourself and your reputation what no one else can. You become your own worst enemy. The real professionals in the industry need to realize that a part of professional integrity is to work to make the industry better as well as make a living in their careers. Make the con artists accountable for what they do. Show their clients a better deal, avoid booking them into any jobs, put pressure on their partners to abandon them, and introduce other professionals to sites like ours so they can learn how to recognize them and how to deal with them. We are here to help, but we need your help, too. You need to do what you can to make others accountable, as well as make yourself accountable for everything you do and say. It is an investment into your industry, and it's just the right thing to do. ~ Danielle Cooper, Editor Tampa Bay Modeling Clearwater Beach, Florida
